Logline A quirky contained dramedy about an agoraphobic writer who unknowingly fathers three daughters with three sisters in the same year, thus producing sibling cousins.
A Contained Screenplay Sibling Sisters is a quirky comedic jaunt with an unequaled concept that combines the drama of Sparrows Dance with the quirkiness of The Kids Are All Right and the comedy of Delivery Man. The dramedy's plot wraps around a loveable guy's agoraphobia, making him the least likely person to be in this predicament. The key is that the improbable becomes possible in a unique manner that uses the awkwardness of the situations to create natural comedic scenes. It's a contained screenplay with a small suburban home as the only location and only three actors if you use dual roles.
Synopsis The screenplay starts with Morris Tate doing a voice-over of himself having a panic attack. He then says he will explain how he got into this fetal position. Morris is a 30-something black male, an agoraphobic, living alone in a small suburban home where his condition keeps him a prisoner and where the entire story takes place. He has the looks and mannerisms of Chidi Anagonye, a nerdy character with anxiety issues from the series The Good Place, played by actor William Jackson Harper. Morris is a freelance writer with a weekly column in a Lesbian online magazine as an LGBTQ ally. His first panic attack occurred when he attempted a foul shot in a college basketball game. Morris has not been able to shoot a foul shot since without panicking.
Spring Brady a bohemian white female lesbian who looks like actress Sophie Turner with short blonde hair. She wants the hippie lifestyle and rents the room from Morris, and they start a strong platonic bond. The two share several humorous and embarrassing moments. Through their relationship, we learn that Spring has two sisters. Summer is younger, and the other sister, Autumn, is older and estranged. Spring's parents had an ugly divorce, and Autumn lived with their dad. Spring tricks Morris into giving a sperm donation to a bogus lesbian group. She uses the sperm to get pregnant and leaves to live off the grid at a Lesbian commune in Oregon.
After Spring leaves, her sister Summer Brady, an alluring long-haired redhead whose face is identical to Spring but in her short dress and heels, is everything Spring is not. Summer has been using men for her own benefit and was just on a layover before she flew to France to live with her sugar daddy. Morris talks Summer into staying the night and gets to know the real Summer below her tough exterior. They hook up for an awkward one-night stand that includes handcuffs. Summer was impregnated that night and left forever in the morning, or so she thought.
Autumn Brady, an assertive liberal feminist, wears shoulder-length dirty blonde hair with bangs. Only the hair and attitudes distinguish the three sisters; the same actress can play all three roles. Autumn comes in search of her sisters and ends up renting Spring's old room. The two hit it off and fall in love. Autumn becomes pregnant with Morris's child, but the two cohabitate as lovers since she does not believe in marriage. Autumn gives birth in a wild birthing scene in the house with Morris as the emergency midwife.
Winter is an adorable black girl who helps Morris deal with his agoraphobic issues. They named her Winter as Autumn's mom always said her first grandchild should be named Winter. They don't realize that Spring and Summer have a daughter of Morris named Winter, as well, until Winter's fourth birthday party. On that day, Morris is on a bike ride when Spring comes with Morris's unknown daughter, Winter, nicknamed Snowflake; she is identical to Autumn's daughter but dresses like a mini-hippie. After Spring arrives, Summer comes to the door with Morris's unknown daughter called Hiver, which is French for Winter. She is identical to the other Winters but wears a red beret and talks with a French accent. The three Winters are half-sisters and cousins and look like actress Yara Shahidi as a four-year-old. Before Morris returns home, the Brady sisters must find out if this is a celebration or a catastrophe.
Morris gets home from his ride and meets the three Winters separately in a humorous scene where he thinks they are all his daughter, who is playing dress-up for her birthday. When Morris goes inside and sees Spring and Summer, and they explain that he is the girls' father, it sends Morris into the panic attack that the story started with. After the shock, Autumn assures Morris that everything will work out and he can spend time with all his children. Winter is excited she has two new sisters, and the Brady sisters are thrilled they are all together again. The movie ends with Morris attempting a foul shot that symbolizes he has beaten his agoraphobia.
