Synopsis Eyes of Ice is a psychological thriller in modern-day Tokyo about Aisume Takeda, the charismatic alpha lesbian with ice blue eyes; Aisume means "ice eyes." She is a twin to her brother Ichiro and is the chief legal counsel for Takeda Shipping. She is the natural choice for CEO, but her twin brother, Ichiro, an inept logistics manager, is next in line only because he's male. Their ultra-conservative father, Eizo Takeda, follows antiquated Japanese mores and promotes Ichiro to CEO, which triggers Aisume's ruthless quest to avenge a lifetime of paternal abuse and the tragic death of her mother by taking over Takeda Shipping at any cost.
Aisume starts to implement a sordid plan for a company's hostile takeover. Her takeover team, nicknamed the "Girls Club," is Aisume's circle of LGBTQ women that meets for coffee breaks in Aisume's office. The group leader is Hana, her assistant and right-hand girl. Aisume's lover, Reiko, is the corporate masseuse. Ami is Ichiro's secretary, and Jenny is a young receptionist who Aisume enchants. Rounding out the group is Kai, a TV news personality who becomes an Aisume love interest. Aisume manipulates the group and never reveals the depth of her maniacal scheme to them.
The motivation for Aisume is not limited to the shipping corporation alone. The revenge factor of paying back her father's suspected role in her mother's death and the lifetime of physical and emotional abuse Aisume endured from him. The last straw was his promotion of her blundering brother to CEO when she was clearly the most qualified. Her inner circle of friends didn't realize that his business espionage was also Aisume's revenge for a lifetime of mistreatment by her father and brother.
Aisume does not share her plan's key and heinous part with anyone. She fakes cancer to allow herself to change her body to double as her brother Ichiro physically. Aisume is fascinated by a female serial killer in a movie and uses the killer's ice-pick method to murder her brother. The murder of Ichiro allows Aisume to play both roles as herself and her brother. She then has the power of the CEO while impersonating Ichiro to transfer enough stocks to make the hostile takeover happen. The acquisition gives her father a terminal stroke that Aisume evilly enjoys.
Aisume deals with many unseen issues while being the emotionally unstable Ichiro, complicating her plans to complete the deal and let Ichiro disappear. Aisume had to deal with the Yakuza, who had their criminal claws into Ichiro, unknown to anyone. She also has to eliminate her friend Ami, who was Ichiro's secretary, when she finds out she was romantically connected to him.
As circumstances cause Aisume to become more diabolical, her friendships with her friends start to fray, epitomized by her killing of innocent Jenny, who worshiped the ground Aisume walked on. The plan unravels at the end as Reiko has a hunch and reveals through her massage sessions with Aisume and Ichiro that they are both Aisume. She kills Aisume when she is Ichiro with the same ice-pick move that Aisume used to kill the actual Ichiro. Hana and Reiko, whose love relationship and partnership to work against Aisume were unknown to anyone, leave the country as the clear winners in this story. Aisume is the notorious femme fatale that we all hate and love simultaneously.
